The WoodGas Campstove LE is the smallest and lightest
product utilizing WoodGas technology. Measuring just 5" in
diameter and 6.5" tall, it provides a hot fire from twigs and
chips in the smallest possible package. The stove, pot holder
and carry bag (included) weigh 23 oz. One load twigs burns for
about 10 minutes, providing 10,000 btu/hr of cooking heat. An
excellent solution for individuals to boil water or cook a small
meal. This stove weights 1 pound 7 oz. That's LIGHT,
yeah..its not the 4 oz that your super titanium brunton stove
is, but as the logo for the stove goes, ' pack the stove, NOT
your fuel'. If you are some super snobby back packer who
pays extra for titanium cookware and carbon graphite hiking
sticks, you won't like this. If you are a normal person
you'll LOVE it. |
The WoodGas Campstove XL is a larger cooking stove,
optimized for longer cooking times and higher heat. One load of
twigs will typically burn for 20 minutes, while producing 12,000
btu/hr of cooking heat. It measures 9" tall and 6.5" in
diameter, and weighs 35 oz. The campstove XL is the perfect size
for cooking complex meals or meals for small groups. As in other
WoodGas products, fuel can be added during cooking for longer
burn times. Compressed wood pellets also work very well, burning
for 3 times the burn time of twigs. This is a larger
version of the LE stove (the first one released). I
personally use my XL a lot more than I do my LE and I keep an XL
stove in a cooking pot, that is just slightly larger than the
stove, in my truck during the winter. I have a small axe,
saw and I have some soda bottles filled with wood pellets.
So no matter where I am I can melt snow for drinking water.
I can get my own fuel (the axe and the saw) or I can use the
pellets I have. Since I am not doing any remote driving,
its kinda not needed, but I did it anyway as an experiment.
I have had excellent use toasting marshmallows in it on cold
nights when at friends. |
